Experimental Drouin Savanna Angels 17 ans

Active since 1870, the Savanna distillery produces rums with great character and intense aromas ranging from *rhum agricole* to traditional rums. We decided to work with the latter category, selecting casks for this new edition of the Christian Drouin "Experimental" range that previously held traditional rums aged for 9 to 14 years. For this marriage, we selected a 17-year-old Calvados Pays d'Auge already rich and full-bodied, with distinct notes of toasted apple. The Calvados then spent 6 to 9 months in these former Savanna casks. “It was with Savanna that we first experimented with aging in rum casks back in 2009. I still remember the array of spices those casks imparted to the spirit. It was only natural for us to revisit this combination. I am particularly pleased to see how the rum’s aromas have integrated with the Calvados, resulting in a truly expressive Calvados.” Guillaume Drouin
